Adventure time…

For the last 3 years we have been living in our first home we ever bought. It has been a journey of ups and downs. From amazing memories to snow storms and plumbing issues. Home ownership and living in a home has been an incredible experience.

We’ve learned so much about handling anything that comes our way and becoming resourceful when needed. However as we moved up life’s levels and started to set bigger goals for ourselves, we began to see that where we were living was not in line with who we wanted to become and where the next phase of our life was taking us.

Big dreams require big moves and big actions. Sometimes the things that terrify you the most are the things that you should step out and do. So, after loads of consulting with all those who’ve been here before and started their journey; we decided to rent out our home and move closer to the city.

Where do we even begin? This move has to work like dominos. Finding a new place, prepping the house for a renter, finding a renter, moving out, moving in, changing schools for the kids, and so much more. So much to think about. So much to do.

I started to look for places on Zillow and HAR rentals. When you’re making big scary moves, it’s good to have your future as clear as possible. That way when the going gets tough, you can focus on all the things you have. Become the tough and get going! Believe you will get instead of centralizing on possible challenges you are going to face.

The right school district was our number one priority, so where we were going to rent was pretty limited to certain zip codes. I have a belief that if you think it, it will come to you. Therefore the perfect place will come up on the market for us.

Sure enough, right in the middle of one of our favorite places in houston where we always dreamed to live was the perfect 3 bedroom apartment waiting for us. We went to tour the place and I loved it immediately. The view, the city, the feels…

I could see all the memories that we were going to create in our new dream. The people we would meet, the opportunities that would come our way just by putting ourselves out there and doing something different.

We were leveling up and it was starting to feel like a reality that we were slowly starting to put together.

By the time we went downstairs to discuss putting down the deposit, the leasing agent told us that particular unit was off the market. Bummer…but they had to have something else…

She looked…at end of September a unit just like it was opening up. We were in. It gave us time to figure out the details of renting out our home so the timeline was even better.

We sent in all our documents and waited for the confirmation that we’re in. While we are way past the amount needed to rent, it still makes me nervous when waiting to hear back about the approval for an apartment you want.

We got the call… we were in. We had a place! A new home we would make new memories at while we figured out what our next move in the game of life would be.

The kids were excited and my daughter talked about all the day dreams she was already having about our amazing new life.

I smiled from the inside out and chuckle to myself…this journey is no where near from being over, but every journey begins with a first step. One which we had taken.

Was it scary? Absolutely. Are things totally up in the air? Definitely.

But you know, those things will work themselves out. They always do. Today… today we’re celebrating the exciting new life we’re going to have and adding details to the big dreams we’re already dreaming.

This all feels like a dream, but it’s not. This is our reality. A reality that we’re creating…slowly but surely adding on the levels and getting to the next phase…

I’m so ready…but first…let me call my agent…

A.A.
